Renaud Laplanche is a French-American entrepreneur and business executive. He is the co-founder and CEO of Upgrade, Inc.
Renaud has built two of the most significant fintech companies in America. He founded Lending Club in 2006, growing it into the nation's largest personal lending platform before leading its record-setting IPO in 2014 — the biggest US Internet IPO that year.
He went on to co-found Upgrade, now valued at $7.3 billion, which has delivered over $42 billion in affordable credit to consumers. Recognized on Bloomberg's 50 Most Influential list and winner of the Economist Innovation Award, Renaud also holds the Newport-Bermuda sailing record with the only crossing ever completed under 24 hours.
